scene 1: part of palace


introduced arioso cello, giulietta awaits news of fighting. lorenzo enters , tells romeo lives, taken away tebaldo s castle. offers solution: must take sleeping potion make appear has died. taken family s tomb arrange romeo , himself present when awakes. in state of indecision, contemplates options.
