in netherlands, introduction of railways made desirable create standard time. on 1 may 1909, amsterdam time or dutch time introduced. before that, time measured in different cities , in east of country, few minutes later in west. in 1909, national time introduced same local time in amsterdam, precise exact time of wester tower (westertoren/4°53 01.95 e). time indicated gmt +0h 19m 32.13s until 17 march 1937, after simplified gmt+0h20m. time zone known loenen time or gorinchem time, exact time in both loenen , gorinchem. @ noon in amsterdam, 11:40 in london , 12:40 in berlin.


the shift current central european time zone took place on 16 may 1940. german occupiers ordered clock moved hour , forty minutes forward. time kept in summer , winter throughout 1941 , 1942. in november 1942 different winter time introduced, , time adjusted 1 hour backwards. lasted 3 years; after liberation of netherlands in 1945, summer time abolished on thirty years, during years, standard time 40 minutes ahead of original amsterdam time. @ 2017, netherlands in line central european time (gmt+1 in winter, gmt+2 in summer, different amsterdam time).
