the bait shop – local bait shop owned alf stewart. intended business venture between alf , grandson ric dalby, ric instead moved university girlfriend, matilda hunter. bridget worked @ shop until arrested. hugo austin worked there diver. alf ran bait shop around 1997 – 1999, alf business partner jesse mcgregor, bait shop destroyed fire caused jesse after jesse decided no longer wanted part of business. harvey ryan (marcus graham) worked @ bait shop. following departure, denny miller replaced him, until death. in 2016, justin morgan joins business , became temporary manager, when alf suffers massive heart attack , stroke. hunter king (scott lee) later hired work in shop, until departure. scarlett snow works @ bait shop whilst lives in caravan @ caravan park.
summer bay auto – garage set andy barrett (tai hara) , martin ashford (george mason), of katarina chapman (pia miller). andy , ash take on matt page (alec snow) apprentice mechanic. garage trashed on orders of dylan carter (jeremy lindsay taylor). in july 2016, andy left summer bay on run , left ash run business alone. justin tried find job there, left when found ash owner, after justin had fight ash on arrival summer bay. justin returned , takes job.
the farm – owned bruce campbell – grandfather of geoff campbell , annie campbell. in march 2009 martha mackenzie had bought farm money husband jack holden after death in honour of him. martha sold farm grandfather alf stewart in june 2010 before going on run hugo austin. later in year sid walker started renting property, few months later bought farm off of alf , lives there daughters indigo , sasha , son dexter. sid later left kids dex moving room , having girlfriend april move in. when walker family departed in 2013, started renting out maguire family , moved in during 2013 finale.
the beach – beach important part of bay , several major story lines have revolved around it. main outdoor location, used casual encounters between characters. serves showcase looks of cast, seen wearing beachwear. there small salt-water swimming pool – referred locally ocean pool – @ 1 end of beach used occasionally.
the lighthouse – lighthouse mentioned being located @ stewart s point, , appears in establishing shots.
st. james church – local anglican church used weddings , funerals. previous ministers have included reverend flowers, reverend john hall , elijah johnson.
the library – library somewhere around in summer bay, , students summer bay high mentioned going there study. however, has never been seen on-screen.
yabbie creek primary school – closest primary school situated in neighbouring town of yabbie creek. local primary school summer bay residents after closure of summer bay primary school. previous students of summer bay primary include sally fletcher, sam marshall, duncan stewart, christopher fletcher, rachel mcgregor. previous students of yabbie creek primary school include ryan baker, vj patterson , short time, darcy callahan , lily smith.
