eton college on opposite bank lock, beyond cutler s ait. upstream of town of eton windsor bridge crosses. on windsor side, river skirts town , after windsor bridge small island called firework ait , little further on, deadwater ait close bank. opposite side of river extent of open fields , after them, set bit, village of eton wick. upstream of windsor bridge brunel s windsor railway bridge crosses baths island , more modern road bridge queen elizabeth bridge. cuckoo weir stream backwater runs under queen elizabeth bridge, while on other side @ clewer confluence of clewer mill stream. main river doubles on sharply @ windsor racecourse before run in boveney lock. amount of rowing activity on reach has been reduced recent creation of dorney lake near dorney.
