in 1999, 120 restaurants re-branded brewster s in endeavor differentiate set of more family-oriented pubs more suited adults. despite initial similarities brewers fayre, such environment , food offerings, brewster s placed greater emphasis on entertaining children; pubs had multi-level play area known fun factory , children s entertainers , ice-cream machines.the brand s slogan fun kids, relaxing parents . 30 outlets added in 3 years followed. many brewster s sites brewers fayre sites charlie chalk fun factories. brand voted family friendly restaurant chain in country baby charity, tommy s.

despite whitbread s best efforts, in 2004 sales in brewster s began slow down. result, on next twelve months company integrated majority of 149 restaurants original brewers fayre brand, in effort reverse negative trend. brand had phased out 2006. 2004-05 annual report indicated beneficial brewers fayre, not because brewster s focused on young families, because brewers fayre focusing on adult market. out of original 149 outlets, had kept indoor fun factories small number had these factories cut down in size become known play zones.

in late 2006 small number of brewers fayre restaurants refurbished bringing in more contemporary theme. first site newhouse in motherwell (which opened in june 2006 pilot). restaurants not officially given brand name kept name brewers fayre logo black instead of red while other sites signed contemporary dining & drinking . in autumn 2007 further brewers fayre sites changed new brand , again in february 2008. on 18 may 2008 whitbread launched brand table table . 100 sites re-branded in total new sites opened after 2008 have been new builds. brewers fayre has stopped refurbishing sites brand. table table had grown 111 outlets mid-2012. brewers fayre has converted number of table table sites brewers fayre such phoenix park in paisley.

starting in december 2007 swansea vale brewers fayre, 6 restaurants converted taybarns format , 1 bought rival company. all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant. whitbread announced plans convert more brewers fayre sites taybarns brand during 2009 , 2010, never happened, partly due high cost. despite success of taybarns announced in march 2016 sites returned brewers fayre brand starting site near barnsley (the wentworth) , last site change south shields closed in september 2016.

although majority of brewers fayre pubs featured hot counters (buffet place our chef s counter ) part of restaurants, sites in widnes , barry named brewers fayre buffet place . features larger buffet counter buffets available time. extras such cakes , salads available. theme of restaurant different stepping away pub theme. in spite of this, these restaurants run normal brewers fayre pubs.

late 2017 has seen whitbread launch new brand cookhouse & pub. first site former lakeside in oldbury shich opened on october 12th. cotton mill kilmarnock, butterley park ripley , stonebrook @ holystone planned re branded end of year.
