ukrainian parties tend not have clear-cut ideologies incline centre around civilizational , geostrategic orientations (rather economic , socio-political agendas, in western politics), around personalities , business interests. party membership lower 1% of population eligible vote (compared average of 4.7% in european union).

a faction of nonpartisan deputies under name reforms future existed between 16 february 2011 , 15 december 2012. faction of nonpartisan deputies under name peace , stability existed between 2 july 2014 , 27 november 2014.


in 1998 - 2000 there parliamentary faction labour ukraine existed without political party until registered ukrainian ministry of justice in june 2000.


the communist party of ukraine (soviet union) prohibited in 1991, members not excluded ukrainian parliament. formed parliamentary faction of socialist party of ukraine. 1994 parliamentary elections ban on communist parties lifted , there 2 parties similar ideologies running parliament socialist party of ukraine , communist party of ukraine reestablished in 1993.




presidential election 2014

originally scheduled take place on 29 march 2015, date changed 25 may 2014 following 2014 ukrainian revolution. petro poroshenko won elections 54.7% of votes. closest competitor yulia tymoshenko, emerged 12.81% of votes. central election commission reported voter turnout @ on 60% excluding regions not under government control, crimea , large part of donbass. since poroshenko obtained absolute majority in first round, run-off second ballot unnecessary.

the first round of voting took place on january 17, 2010. eighteen candidates nominated election in incumbent president viktor yushchenko voted out of office having received 5.45% of vote. 2 highest polling candidates, viktor yanukovych (34.32%) , yulia tymoshenko (25.05%), face each other in final run-off ballot scheduled take place on february 7, 2010

presidential election 2004

the initial second round of presidential election 2004 (on november 17, 2004) followed orange revolution, series of peaceful protests resulted in nullification of second round. supreme court of ukraine ordered repeat of re-run held on december 26, 2004, , asked law enforcement agencies investigate cases of election fraud.
