dieng ruled ineligible ncaa when first arrived @ louisville forcing them hold him out of practice , individual workouts. louisville appealed ncaa s decision , on october 26, 2010 announced ncaa reversed original decision , ruled dieng eligible immediately. freshman dieng saw action in 29 games averaging 16 mins game. scored 5.7 points game, pulled down 4.4 rebounds , blocked 1.9 shots game in limited action. cardinals finished 2010–11 season 25–10 record, 12–6 in big east play tied 3rd , lost in championship game of 2011 big east men s basketball tournament connecticut. received at-large bid , #4 seed in 2011 ncaa men s division basketball tournament upset in second round #13 seeded morehead state.


as sophomore, dieng started @ center 2011–12 louisville team reached final 4 of ncaa tournament. in 2011–12 season, dieng led big east conference in blocks, , set all-time school record blocks in season. on march 22, 2012, dieng matched louisville tournament record 7 blocks in game in 57–44 sweet 16 victory on michigan state.


dieng named student representative board of directors of u of l athletic department 2012–13 school year, succeeding graduated teammate kyle kuric.
