the saadian tombs built in 16th century mausoleum bury numerous saadian rulers , entertainers. lost many years until french rediscovered in 1917 using aerial photographs. mausoleum comprises corpses of sixty members of saadi dynasty originated in valley of draa river. among graves of saadian sultan ahmad al-mansur , family; al-mansur buried mother in dynastic necropolis in 1590 after enlarging original square funeral structure. located next south wall of almohad mosque of kasba, in cemetery contains several graves of mohammad s descendants. own tomb, richly embellished decorations, modeled on nasrid mausoleum in granada, spain. building composed of 3 rooms; best known has roof supported twelve columns , encloses tomb of al-mansur s son. room exemplifies islamic architecture floral motifs, calligraphy, zellij , carrara marble, , stele in finely worked cedar wood , stucco. outside building garden , graves of soldiers , servants.
