two major highways traverse la grange: village s main street, la grange road (u.s. routes 12/20/45) runs north-south; ogden avenue (u.s. route 34) runs east-west. u.s. 34 intersects tri-state tollway (i-294), west of village, while u.s. 12/20/45 intersects interstate 55 south of village.


the bnsf railway runs through la grange. daily commuter service on line, connecting aurora , chicago, provided metra, , stops @ 2 stations within village: la grange road , stone avenue. amtrak serves station nearest la grange road. freight rail traffic on line extremely heavy, bnsf operating freight trains on 3 mainline routes through village. during non-rush hours, freight train may run along line once every ten minutes on average. nearby indiana harbor belt railroad runs underneath bnsf line , has trains running through non-stop.


passenger airline service available @ o hare , midway airports, both located in chicago. proposed passenger rail line connecting 2 airports have station in la grange.


commuter bus service provided pace, suburban bus division of regional transportation authority.


la grange once home municipal air field called stinson airport. airport closed in late 1950s , large quarry.
