in 2007, president pervez musharraf suspended chief justice iftikhar muhammad chaudhry , referred him council on charges of corruption. however, chaudhry contested ability of council form without chief justice himself present, , council hearing suspended supreme court. later council s verdict council not valid without chief justice according constitution of pakistan supreme judicial council can not completed, validated, or proceed without de jure chief justice, no matter whoever may de facto or acting chief justice , provided nobody can file petition against de jure chief justice (in scenario chief justice iftekhar m. chauhdary himself). so, chief justice, mr:chauhdary restored , found not guilty.
