History White Clay Creek State Park
judge morris house
in 1998, state purchased additional 500 acres of land in form of judge hugh m. morris estate, bordering middle run valley natural area. purchase brought park s total size on 3,000 acres.
in 2000, congress included white clay creek in national park service s national wild , scenic river program. first instance of entire watershed being designated opposed portions of river. designation increases level of protection on lands in valley.
