january 12: eta sets off car bomb carried 15–20 kg of explosive in shopping mall in bilbao caused no injured great damage. organization made warning call newspaper gara 15 minutes before blast. later day, bomb exploded in house owned ertzainta in neighborhood of añorga, san sebastian without causing injuries.
august 4: car bomb explodes outside civil guard s casa cuartel in santa pola , kills 2 people, six-year-old girl , 54-year-old man, , injuring 40 people.
september 24: bomb planted @ civil guard post on navarrese-gipuzkoan border near berasategi kills juan carlos beiro montes, head of leitza guardia civil unit
december 22: ibon fernandez iradi, suspected of teaching eta members how manufacture ieds, escapes custody in police station in bayonne.
