lionel weatherly (a psychiatrist) , john nevil maskelyne (a magician) wrote supernatural? (1891) offered rational explanations apparitions, paranormal , religious experiences , spiritualism. karl jaspers in book general psychopathology (1913) stated paranormal phenomena manifestations of psychiatric symptoms.


the german zeitschrift für kritischen okkultismus (journal critical occultism) operated 1926-1928. psychologist richard baerwald editor , published articles dessoir, moll , others. contained of important skeptical investigations of claims of paranormal .


other scientists studied anomalistic psychology include millais culpin, joseph jastrow, charles arthur mercier , ivor lloyd tuckett.
