soon afterwards, revell left cambridge in 2004 made decision drop out of football league joining braintree town.

on 30 january 2008, revell made move brighton southend on two-and-a-half-year contract £150,000. steve tilson had been long admirer of revell , tried sign him in august 2007 transfer window.

on 16 august 2008, revell scored first league goal southend in 1–1 draw millwall @ new den. revell scored first home league goal shrimpers in 2–1 win on swindon town @ roots hall on 18 october 2008. after several excellent hard working performances without reward, revell scored third goal southend after 10 minutes in 2–2 draw away @ tranmere on 15 november 2008, getting ahead of craig duncan meet kevin betsy s cross.

revell suffered broken leg against leyton orient on 20 january 2009 after landing awkwardly, ruled him out rest of season.

revell made comeback appearance injury on 10 july 2009 against great wakering in pre season friendly.

he made 5 appearances southend @ start of 2009–2010 season, last of came against swindon town southend went down 2–1 defeat.

revell returned southend @ end of loan spell having made 12 appearances , scoring 2 goals. on 12 january 2010, southend , revell parted company mutual consent.

swindon town (loan)

on 1 september 2009, in bizarre turn of events, 3 days after playing against them signed swindon town on loan southend united until 3 january 2010, club having option of making move permanent if spell successful.

revell made debut robins in 1–1 draw against parent clubs rivals colchester united. first goals swindon came on 3 october 2009 against brentford bagged brace in 3–2 victory.

revell fell down pecking order @ swindon , fine form of billy paynter , charlie austin front, revell found chances limited , unused substitute. swindon opted not make move permanent , revell returned essex.

wycombe wanderers (loan)

wycombe wanderers thought had signed revell on 12 january 2010 on free transfer deal fell through, on rule prevents players representing 3 clubs in 1 season. revell southend united player @ start of season , played 5 times before going on standard loan swindon town, meaning had officially represented 2 clubs , subsequently not sign wycombe.

if revell had gone on emergency loan swindon town have been able sign wycombe wanderers without problems.

on 22 january 2010, revell given permission sign wycombe wanderers on three-month emergency loan. revell remained southend united player club still held registration. remained on loan @ adams park until late april 2010 before becoming free agent. first goal wycombe came on debut, against bristol rovers penalty spot. after failing score again next 2 months, revell scored 5 goals in 3 games against tranmere rovers (after nut-megging craig duncan), milton keynes dons , swindon town keep wycombe in contention avoid relegation.

after final game of loan deal, signed contract @ wycombe, starting on 3 may until end of june. however, did not allow him play in final game of season because rule prevents players representing 3 clubs in 1 season allow him play while emergency loan valid.

leyton orient

revell offered extended contract wycombe turned down, instead choosing join leyton orient on two-year contract starting on 1 july 2010. scored on league debut orient on 7 august, , followed 3 days later winning goal in league cup victory on former club swindon town. on 13 november, revell scored twice orient register first away win of season 3–0 victory on bristol rovers.

rotherham united

revell signed rotherham united on final day of summer 2011 transfer window undisclosed fee. made debut on 3 september, , scored twice in 3–2 defeat against eventual league winners swindon town. next goal came on 4 october in football league trophy, scoring in 2–1 loss sheffield united. on 25 october helped rotherham complete sensational comeback against morecambe, rotherham 3–0 down @ half time, revell scored final goal rotherham managed draw game 3–3. after scoring in wins against bradford city , hereford united, revell scored first goal of 2012 in defeat swindon, time 2–1 loss @ don valley stadium on 14 january. scored in successive games against dagenham , southend in january , february. on 21 march scored in 4–2 win against macclesfield town. scored tenth league goal rotherham on final day of season, in 1–1 draw against northampton town on 5 may, rotherham s final ever goal , game @ don valley stadium. scored first goal of following season on 15 september 2012, in 1–0 win against torquay united. scored again following game, in 3–2 defeat @ home rochdale. in next game against barnet, sent off seemed reckless challenge in 0–0 draw @ underhill.

revell scored rotherham s first goal in 2014 play-off semi-final first leg against preston north end, , in final, against leyton orient, contributed 2 goals, second angled, dipping half volley 40 yards out tie scores , take match penalty shootout rotherham won. scored goal against ex-club brighton in 2014–15 championship season, leveling match in eventual 1–1 draw @ amex.

cardiff city

on 9 january 2015 revell left rotherham united , joined former manager russell slade @ cardiff city, transfer fee believed in region of £175,000. made debut in 1–0 win on fulham following day , went on score first goal against norwich city, next game. went on finish season 2 goals in 17 games new club , 6 in total season.

revell had started in starting eleven, following season partnering joe mason, dropped after 3 games after slow start season.

wigan athletic (loan)

on 11 november 2015, revell joined league 1 side wigan athletic, making debut @ rochdale , finding winner against shrewsbury town following week.

upon returning cardiff, former club rotherham united manager, neil redfearn had confirmed club had opened talked on revell making return new york stadium. despite talks going on, revell started following game against shrewsbury in fa cup.

milton keynes dons

on 1 february 2016, revell signed on free transfer fellow championship side milton keynes dons. on 23 february 2016 revell scored first goal club header in 1–1 home draw versus huddersfield town.

on 16 april 2016 away preston north end, no substitutions remaining , score level @ 1–1, revell replaced goalkeeper cody cropper in goal in 81st minute after cropper sent off foul inside penalty area against preston s eoin doyle, resulting in penalty being awarded. revell saved resulting penalty taken joe garner. game finished 1–1. incident reported in press revell receiving high praise performance.

northampton town

revell signed northampton town on 14 june 2016 contract commencing 1 july 2016 2 years. scored first goal northampton in 1–1 draw against charlton athletic on 13 august 2016.
