the ecoregion extends across north of suriname border guyana along corantijn river border french guiana along marowijne river. both guyana , french guiana have elements of swamp forest. flat coastal plain formed marine sediments in holocene epoch, , has elevations 4 11 metres (13 36 ft) above sea level. soils hygromorphic , permanently flooded. in rainy season water in southern areas may on 3.5 metres (11 ft) deep.
