tell truth! postcard

the first action distribution of postcards logo of campaign, in people asked write local problems , send presidential administration of belarus. on 19 april neklaijev made attempt deliver several postcards personally, refused accept them in presidential administration because wasn t official representative of authors.

at same time uladzimir niaklajeu , other activists of campaign organized series of trips around country. these trips included meetings local population , discussions of issues, people concerned about. in bringing attention , public discussion helped solve local issues, or @ least make resolution stage more active.

monitoring of local elections

before beginning of session of central commission of republic of belarus on elections , conduction of national referendums, dedicated results of local elections in country, delegates of tell truth! campaign have handed on analytical report committee. in report uladzimir niaklajeu states can call elections. people treated scornfully on these elections. people had no choice on these elections. elections held according oppressive scheme possible .

one of members of minsk election committee , authors of monitoring sergey vozniak said:

it mentioned in report 93% of members of pro-presidential parties , 14% of opposition party members approved included in precinct electoral committees. authors of monitoring assume reason lies in fact highest degree of falsification takes place in precinct electoral committees. points out unprecedented pressure of authorities on candidates , activists in order make them withdraw election campaign. mentioned in report result of these actions around 30% of population, in opposition policies of authorities, practically not represented in system of local councils.

the day before 65th anniversary of victory of ussr in great patriotic war campaign tell truth! started action of commemorating name of outstanding belarusian writer , veteran vasil bykaŭ. announced start of collecting signatures name newly built metro station, street in minsk , street in grodno after bykaŭ. collecting of signatures started in minsk on 9 may 2010. 1 of suggestions rename uljanovskaja street, located not far lenin street (two streets in honour of 1 man), bykaŭ s name. collection of signatures in grodno, writer lived 25 years, started on 11 may. reported organizers, 19 june 65 thousand signatures in minsk , 5 thousand signatures in grodno collected commemorate name of bykaŭ.

several well-known personalities in belarus put names down street named after bykaŭ: writer hienadz buraukin, first prime minister of belarus vyachaslau kebich, labour union activist alexander buhvostov, academician alexander vojtovich , many others.

on 30 june 2010 grodno city committee on toponymy recommended name new street constructed in following year after vasil bykaŭ. nevertheless, nothing known connection between signatures collecting action recommendation.

on 12 july 105 thousand of signatures under demand rename 1 of streets in minsk name of bykaŭ handed on minsk city executive committee.

on 16 july activists of campaign in grodno handed of on following proposals city executive committee:

name 1 of streets or squares of grodno after bykaŭ;
install memorial plate on house, lived;
improve conditions of activity of bykaŭ s museum in grodno;
organise public consultations in round table format select street or square name after bykaŭ.

7414 signatures collected support these proposals.

on 21 july session of grodno city executive committee added room bykaŭ museum. street naming issue not on agenda.

hundred faces of unemployment

on 2 june @ zaslavl water storage basin near minsk leaders of campaign presented collected book «100 faces of unemployment», dedicated problem of employment in belarus. collected book contains stories of hundred people, not find job long period of time. among them famous people of country ordinary citizens. uladzimir niaklajeu said founders of campaign tell truth! supporting programme of presidential candidate of united civil party jaroslav romanchuk million new jobs belarus .

regional activities

apart all-republican actions activists of campaign initiated series of local actions. example, on 2 june in mogilev started collecting signatures reconstruction of 1 of local roads , on 10 june – publication time-table of reception of citizens deputies of local council in local mass media. several other actions took place in june in brest, gorki, orsha , other towns of belarus.

on 28 june activists of campaign organised ecological action – cleaned lake svetilovskoje in baranovichi district of brest region. identical action organised on 10 july in orsha: assistance of municipal executive committee activists of campaign cleaned river kuteenka. on 28 july cleaning territory of forest-park in grodno. several actions on cleaning banks of local basins organised in brest region.

beginning of political activity

several observers commented campaign related future presidential elections , can become resource nominating presidential candidate. before 2 september uladzimir niaklajeu denied assumptions nominating candidature or said make decision no sooner elections officially announced. on 19 july on meeting belarusian businessmen niaklajeu announced planning become delegate of 4th all-belarusian national assembly, supposed take place in fall 2010. assumed enough collect 20 thousand signatures of citizens. in interview newspaper belarusians , market niaklajeu agreed step means campaign moving field of social activity political field.

on 27 august sub-total of activity of campaign made. on press conference organisers informed reporters 80 actions in 33 cities , towns organised period since campaign started. result, 55 thousand signatures collected under demands solve series of local problems. uladzimir niaklajeu declared activists managed attract attention of citizens of belarus initiatives , social emphasis of campaign helped people better understand necessary solve problems on global level, in country scale. stated many local bureaucrats sympathizing campaign tell truth!

on 2 september 2010 on air of radio station moscow echo niaklajeu announced plans stand presidential elections in belarus in future election campaign. on 23 september filed application registering initiative group presidential candidate nomination. group headed 1 of closest companions of niaklajeu in tell truth! campaign andrej dmitriev. total of initiative group 3275 people, 193 829 signatures collected nominating niaklajeu. according official data, niaklajeu , supporters claim falsified, 1,78% of voters voted niaklajeu.
