in 1873, bellevue hospital school of nursing, of new york city, founded. first school of nursing in united states founded on principles of nursing established florence nightingale. school operated @ bellevue hospital until closure in 1969.

1889: johns hopkins school of nursing founded in conjunction creation of johns hopkins hospital. 1 of earliest hospital-based nursing schools in united states school leaders consulted florence nightingale on program of education. these same nurse leaders established become national league nursing education , helped in establishing american nurses association.

united states curriculum
