the aspen wildfire struck summerhaven in summer of 2003, resulted in destruction of more 250 of 700 homes in community. arizona governor janet napolitano assessed damage, , both federal , county officials surveyed extensive loss. in months followed, tucson residents organized lemmon aid rebuild summerhaven. summerhaven continues recover wildfire.
