when civil war broke out on planet cybertron between autobots , decepticons, huffer joined autobot cause.


when autobot leader sentinel prime killed decepticon leader megatron, new autobot leader, optimus prime, chosen. optimus ordered evacuation of cybertron autobots, , huffer among reluctantly prepared evacuation (transformers: war within #2).


when decepticon military operations commander shockwave lead force of decepticons against autobot capitol of iacon, huffer among autobots defended capitol (transformers: war within #3).


when megatron , optimus prime disappeared in accident space bridge, autobot , decepticon forces splintered smaller factions. huffer stayed autobots under leadership of prowl.


huffer among autobots followed optimus prime on mission on board ark , crash landed on earth. in 1984, when ark s computer re-activated, rebuilt huffer in form of earth truck.


eventually combined forces of autobots on earth, , human allies able capture decepticons. ship called ark ii built take cybertonians cybertron, along human companions, ship exploded shortly after takeoff. human allies killed, cybertonians lost in ocean, again in statis lock.


huffer , others recovered rogue military unit , reprogrammed slave war machines. megatron broke free , freed fellow decepticons , grimlock. huffer , other autobots found lazarus abused megatron s troops, freed optimus prime.


huffer returned cybertron optimus prime , of autobots face charges after ultra magnus them war had ended.

huffer befriended trucker bomber bill, , 2 fought valiantly in order stop soundwave , devastator contacting cybertron. however, efforts in vain , 2 decepticon groups began process of co-operation culminated in deployment of space bridge between cybertron , earth.


huffer joined list of long-term injured during dinobot hunt. charged, along sideswipe , bluestreak, bringing in powerful dinobot, grimlock. unfortunately, party found mentally ill grimlock locked in vicious combat sludge, had been planted there decepticons. huffer badly injured trying contain situation.
