the municipal election held on 26 march 2006 yielded following results:

the mayor chosen in direct election term of 6 years. since 7 september 2008, mayor has been volker oehlenschläger (cdu). received 54.8% of vote.


coat of arms

the community’s arms might described thus: argent cross fitchy gules, thereupon letter f argent.


the cross fitchy (that is, point on bottom arm; called nagelkreuz [“nailcross”] or fußspitzkreuz [“foot point cross”] in german) recalls lorsch abbey’s former landlordship. lowercase f in antiqua script borne in earlier court coat of arms 1626. arms approved in 1926.
