gibraltar, british overseas territory @ southern end of iberian peninsula, has 3 marinas. these include marina bay, ocean village marina, , queensway quay marina. marina bay largest of trio , located on gibraltar s westside, outside northern end of gibraltar harbour, in bay of gibraltar, next airport runway. adjacent ocean village marina south. however, marina bay forms part of ocean village project. ocean village marina old sheppard s marina or sheppard s yard. marina bay , ocean village marina have been incorporated ocean village project, between north mole , airport runway.


until recently, marina bay had approximately 210 berths, , accommodate vessels 70 metres (230 ft) in length , draft (or draught) of 4.5 metres (15 ft). however, after recent expansion (see below), marina can handle yachts length of 100 metres (330 ft). gibraltar s yacht reporting berth closed in late 2005 , customs clearance of vessels handled each marina. each berth @ marina bay has access telephone service, metered electricity , fresh water. other support services berths include wi-fi, satellite tv, showers, laundry, , concierge service. petrol , diesel available duty-free @ fuel quay (wharf) outside marina. majority of gibraltar s sailing schools based @ marina bay. marina has supermarket, variety of restaurants , taverns.


construction of marina bay completed between 1979 , 1981. operated marina bay complex ltd, , acquired ocean village investments ltd in 2006. in interval since acquisition, both marinas, marina bay , ocean village, have been modernised, expanded, , incorporated ocean village project, large waterfront development. development features 3 17-storey towers, both residential , commercial space. towers, blue glass balconies, include grand ocean plaza, majestic ocean plaza, , royal ocean plaza. 2 marinas, marina bay , ocean village, offer 330 berths vessels.
