the predominant feud entering lockdown between mr. anderson, rob van dam, , tna world heavyweight champion, sting competing title. on march 17 edition of tna impact!, anderson demanded rematch contention world title, after wrestling double count-out van dam @ victory road, leaving no prevalent contender. partially granted “tna owner” hulk hogan , partner eric bischoff, booked four-way involving anderson , van dam, match, however, ended in double pinfall causing same result. following week, sting entered picture when selected “the network” special enforcer (ringside referee) of rematch between anderson , van dam title contention night, led feud anderson accused sting disqualifying him actions rendered official referee unconscious, made van dam contender tna world heavyweight championship. on march 31 edition of tna impact!, anderson vented frustration on referee earl hebner, had disqualified him inadvertent clothesline attack. bischoff , hogan added anderson world title match @ lockdown, making three-way match. conflict between van dam, anderson, , sting deepened on weeks, immortal trying unsuccessfully recruit anderson , van dam group. after immortal plotted @ anderson swerving them, sting helped anderson out of situation signature baseball bat.

another feud heading lockdown ongoing rivalry between kurt angle , jeff jarrett. @ against odds, jeff jarrett defeated kurt angle. per stipulation, kurt angle had give ex-wife karen jarrett away rival jeff jarrett @ wedding renewal of jarretts. on february 24 edition of tna impact!, jarretts distracted angle, costing him match rob van dam , mr. anderson. following week, angle ruined jarretts wedding renewal ceremony beating down jeff , driving karen’s face wedding cake. infuriated, jarretts redid ceremony same night. angle cooperated time despite insults being hurled @ him karen until ceremony concluded , scared them off axe. on march 17 edition of tna impact!, angle presented gift jeff , declared better man husband , father karen , angle s kids under custody of karen. not sincerely meaning word, angle retrieved guitar gift gave jeff , blasted him on head it. fed jarretts, angle challenged jeff match @ lockdown, jeff frantically accepted. jeff appeared in steel cage on april 7 edition of tna impact speak unavailing efforts restraining order against angle. shortly after, angle used zipline enter ring , attack jeff, fled scene altogether. week later, announced match @ lockdown contested under ultra male rules. first fall had won submission, second pinfall, , third fall had won escaping cage.

another ongoing rivalry featured @ lockdown defending tna women s knockout champion madison rayne, went against mickie james title. on march 17 edition of tna impact!, following rayne defeating alissa flash, james made save during post-match assault. anxious confront rayne again knockouts title after past, unsuccessful attempts capture belt, rayne gave 1 last shot , pitched terms if james lost, have hair shaved, james agreed lockdown. on april 7 edition of tna impact!, tara, served rayne s bodyguard, opposed rayne s vicious idea of taking out rival, rayne made tara run on james motorcycle in parking lot of impact zone. next week, rayne claimed tara should have backed , ran james on again. upset, tara told rayne taking matters far. james came out ring promising revenge against rayne past 6 months had been out-rivaled.
