the main dorm of hollins college decorated , enhanced sedon. in sedon s daybook, journals, these bits , pieces of decorations noted. seadon (sic) interesting character wry sense of humor, though had troubles spelling in english. 1 year before civil war, journal notes had build walkway necessary- walk way outhouse behind building. next year cryptically noted cover walkway necessary. obviously, young ladies didn t getting wet walked downstairs. sedon s initial contract college on main building began in 1860, interrupted during civil war. wasn t paid work until 1866. recalled repeatedly through 1879 completing porches, balustrades, interior woodwork, other improvements , repairs.
