Oriental Orthodoxy Christianity



the oriental orthodox churches (also called old oriental churches) eastern churches recognize first 3 ecumenical councils—nicaea, constantinople , ephesus—but reject dogmatic definitions of council of chalcedon , instead espouse miaphysite christology. oriental orthodox communion consists of 6 groups: syriac orthodox, coptic orthodox, ethiopian orthodox, eritrean orthodox, malankara orthodox syrian church (india) , armenian apostolic churches. these 6 churches, while being in communion each other independent hierarchically. these churches not in communion eastern orthodox churches whom in dialogue erecting communion.
