la statue (opera ernest reyer) performed @ théâtre lyrique, paris, 1861


the opera received premiere @ théâtre lyrique on 11 april 1861 , successful (jules massenet, @ time himself participated in performance (playing timpani in orchestra), described superb score , tremendous success ). until year 1863 received total of 59 performances, impressive figure times. performed in brussels @ la monnaie in 1865, @ opéra-comique in paris in 1878, monte carlo in 1890 , in revised version paris opéra in 1903 (at time receiving 10 performances). since time has slipped total oblivion , has not been performed ever since.
