uss ajax @ bremerton in 1989.


the repair ship embarked upon long voyage across pacific ocean on 21 february. stopped @ pearl harbor between 8 , 10 march , arrived in san diego on 18th. following usual leave , upkeep period, ajax resumed repair services. activity lasted until second week in september when began preparations go out of service. ajax decommissioned @ san diego on 31 december 1986.


struck navy list on 16 may 1989, ajax sold scrapping defense reutilization , marketing service on 23 may 1997.
