bohemia interactive officially announced development of arma 3 on may 19, 2011. in june 2012 alpha version of game demonstrated @ e3. in august 2013, bohemia interactive announced release 3 downloadable content episodes free after game s initial launch. alpha version of game released on march 5, 2013, allowing players experience game during development, assist in development reporting bugs , giving feedback on experience. beta version released on june 25, 2013, , owned alpha have copy automatically upgraded. final version of arma 3 launched on september 12, 2013. @ launch, arma 3 featured more showcase missions , large island of altis.


arma 3 uses new version of bohemia interactive s real virtuality game engine.
