january 5: 2 small 6 kg bombs exploded @ hotel in village of sos del rey católico, zaragoza causing minor damage , no injuries.
january 7: small bomb planted eta goes off in electricity substation in town of borau, huesca. no 1 injured.
january 22: bomb explodes in party office owned spanish socialist workers party (psoe) in town of nanclares de la oca, causing damage building.
january 26: eta detonates 10 kg bomb beside court of justice of balmaseda , 5 kg 1 in premises of correos postal service in etxebarri, both in biscay, causing material damages , no personal injuries.
january 29: rucksack packed explosives next job centre in santutxu, bilbao went off. 1 policeman injured in attack.
february 1: after warning call eta, bomb goes off in postal office in town of etxebarri (biscay).
february 14: car bomb loaded 40 kg of explosive went off @ discothèque in urdax, navarre, causing damage no injuries police had cleared area after warning call eta.
february 16: bomb explodes in industrial area in town of trapagaran, biscay, after warning call eta. no 1 injured in attack.
february 22: bomb explodes in industrial park near bilbao. bomb caused damage many buildings.
february 26: 2 people injured when bomb exploded in bank cash machine in city of vitoria.
february 27: bomb placed exploded @ courthouse in town of mungia, biscay. passer-by spotted suspicious package , called police. bomb exploded before able clear off area , injured 1 policeman.
february 28: bomb exploded outside labour ministry building in town of mutriku, gipuzkoa. no 1 injured.
march 7: eta detonates bomb outside offices of fascist spanish falange organisation in town of santoña, cantabria. 1 man injured. same day 2 bombs exploded in 2 banks in town of plentzia. no 1 injured.
march 5: following february deaths of 2 eta members igor miguel angulo iturrate, aged 32, (due apparent suicide hanging) , ricardo sainz olmos, aged 41, (as result of apparent heart attack), batasuna union langile abertzaleen batzordeak call day of protest , general strike in basque country on march 9. on morning of strike, eta detonates several bombs near highways, causing no injuries.
march 22: eta declares permanent ceasefire started on 24 march 2006 @ 0000 (2300gmt).
december 30: van bomb containing 500 800 kilograms explodes @ terminal t4 of madrid barajas airport. 2 ecuadorian immigrants (diego armando estacio civizapa , carlos alonso palate), napping inside cars in parking garage killed, , 26 others injured. low casualties due police intervention.
march 5: 1 civilian kidnapped in armed attack eta near luz, france. on december 30, victim released captors.
