on 16 july 2013, day celebrated 25th birthday, busquets agreed new deal until 2018, buyout clause remaining unaltered. on 1 august 2014, after retirement of carles puyol , @ veteran s personal request, given number 5 shirt upcoming campaign.


on 6 june 2015, busquets started in final of champions league, team won fifth accolade in competition beating juventus f.c. @ berlin s olympiastadion. made barcelona first club in history win treble of domestic league, domestic cup , european cup twice, , dani alves, busquets, andrés iniesta, lionel messi, pedro, gerard piqué , xavi players achieve same feat.


on 1 october 2017, busquets opened scoring in 3–0 home win against ud las palmas played closed doors @ camp nou due ongoing catalan independence referendum.
