the eurovision song contest 2017 take place @ international exhibition centre in kiev, ukraine , consist of 2 semi-finals on 9 , 11 may , final on 13 may 2017. according eurovision rules, nations exceptions of host country , big 5 (france, germany, italy, spain , united kingdom) required qualify 1 of 2 semi-finals in order compete final; top ten countries each semi-final progress final. european broadcasting union (ebu) split competing countries 6 different pots based on voting patterns previous contests, countries favourable voting histories put same pot.
