yashaou (voiced by: kyotomi goshima): main protagonist of series. hot-blooded swordsman wields katana while having mastery on element of fire. yashaou once considered potential candidate in being next patriarch family s clan, yashaou didn t concept of , left family become traveling mercenary, willing job cash can live life within own terms. yashaou decides go sword of dynasty after learning of huge reward retrieve while eliminating current owner within process.
goat: rough swordsman wielding large black zweihander blade, spiked mace on chain can swing other arm. lost prince of fallen country, goat lone traveler/mercenary has constant nightmares death of own family. goat believes finding sword of dynasty enable him overcome current problem within sight.
rose mary: beautiful woman wearing tight outfit , wielding demonic sword. can attack demons short attack bursts, , create temporary duplicate of blade itself. rose mary once daughter of noble , aristocratic royal family, after family s kingdom had gone war , lost, father had committed suicide while mother had died many years later illness. rose mary decides go sword of dynasty in attempt restore family s kingdom own former glory.
alice (voiced by: jidai ogawa): young girl wielding special book gives control on undead. alice young necromancer happens daughter of prestigious king , seeks discover secret of immortality. alice believes sword of dynasty can current research , thus, goes on journey find within own time.
lightning: blonde swordsman wielding twin long blades, , name implies has degree of elemental mastery them. head knight of noble yet reclusive kingdom, lightning ordered king retrieve sword of dynasty.
taros: large golem in can form parts of body various weapons. taros robotic soldier current mission retrieve sword of dynasty unknown party.
zam-b (voiced by: kyotomi goshima): strange hunchbacked man wears mask , massive gauntlet uses primary weapon. has ability vomit acid onto opponents in blob projectile. once leader of group of bandits, zam-b has since been imprisoned , in employment of alice s father. zam-b has been given mission not go sword of dynasty, bring alice home well.
footee (voiced by: jidai ogawa): female martial artist uses hands , feet weapons. current heir prestigious family of legendary martial artists, footee goes on journey find sword of dynasty can test out own fighting skills in instant.

bosses

there 2 bosses , both of them playable via own respective codes @ vs. screen. however, neither have actual endings, game treat though re playing whatever character had selected beforehand when beat game.



curfue: cigarette smoking man armed large pulse rifle fires laser beam of variant size, having grenades can toss @ opponent. brutal , cold-blooded man, curfue believes strong can survive in post-apocalyptic world , won t hesitate eliminate tries in way. curfue works s. geist s right-hand man , aids him within current plan in reviving earth dragon.
s. geist: powerful warlord believed wield sword of dynasty : mystical , ancient weapon said hold strongest power in existence , can grant wielder wish desire. s. geist s plan involved awakening earth dragon in attempt harness dangerous power can gain full control on world.

dummied characters

there planned 4 more characters in game also. though searching through game s coding reveals 1 doppelganger, closer examination reveals have been intended mirror match character fight in shadow stage, , not real character.



cerberus: cerberus intended appear bonus stage in stage called beast fight , made more clearer , notable if player looks @ map of game , sees oddly placed intermission sign between 3rd , 4th opponents. though named after mythical beast, dogs have 2 heads , 2 tails instead of three, , wear chain harness on backs. attack en masse, player scoring points depending on how many managed defeat when time up. bonus stage ended retooled , used in game s sequel.
red dragon, blue dragon, gold dragon: 3 dragons name appears in game though gold dragon s sprites appear have been completed , left in. judging appearance, of dragon s body have been off screen player having fight head while attacked fire-based attacks. usage of character unknown, though hidden character called dragon appears in game s sequel, glitch mirror match character. no sprites dragon exist in game either.
