the station designed alfred grenander. topographic reasons, lies unusually deep underground , station therefore constructed unusually high vault , long platform. grenander made exceptionally expressive use of play of light , shadow in vaulting , supports. 1 of 2 berlin u-bahn stations no central columns, other being märkisches museum. tiled in grey black accents.


there 4 entrances, 1 @ north end on mehringdamm , 3 on platz der luftbrücke.
