early life

soledad miranda born soledad rendón bueno on 9 july 1943 in seville, spain. soledad (whose name translates solitude or loneliness) niece of famous spanish singer-actress-flamenco dancer paquita rico. @ age 8, miranda made professional debut when hired flamenco dancer , singer, first in youth galas @ seville fair , san fernando theatre, , on tour throughout southern spain.


career

at age 16, miranda moved madrid , drew artistic stage name out of hat. made film debut in 1960 dancer in musical called la bella mimí. in tabloids rumored girlfriend of famous bullfighter of time, manuel benítez (el cordobés).


miranda went on appear in on 30 film 1960 1970). there epic adventures (ursus, cervantes); horror films (sound of horror, pyro); dramas (canción de cuna, currito de la cruz); comedies (eva 63, la familia y uno más); , spaghetti western (sugar colt). released couple of yé-yé pop records in mid-1960s.


after taking 2 years off raise son (see personal life ), turned acting role in western 100 rifles. went on appear in additional films , in spanish television shows. director jess franco, whom miranda had done small role in musical la reina del tabarín decade before, made miranda frequent star in films included count dracula, eugénie de sade, vampyros lesbos, killed in ecstasy, , devil came akasava. miranda took stage name susann korda (alternately spelled susan korday).


personal life

in 1964, miranda had made trio of films in portugal. josé manuel da conceiçao simões, portuguese racecar driver, producer , acted in them. in 1 of films, un día en lisboa (a day in lisbon), played couple traveling between estoril , lisbon. after secret courtship, pair married in 1966. in april 1967, miranda gave birth son antonio. husband retired racing , took job in auto industry.


on morning of 18 august 1970, near end of filming devil came akasava, miranda , husband involved in collision small truck, killing her.
