regarded traditionalist rather innovator, jennings known lyric poetry , mastery of form. work displays simplicity of metre , rhyme shared philip larkin, kingsley amis , thom gunn, members of group of english poets known movement. made clear that, whilst life, included spell of severe mental illness, contributed themes contained within work, did not write explicitly autobiographical poetry. held roman catholicism coloured of work.


she spent latter years of life in unity house (8 st andrew s lane) in old headington , died in care home in bampton, oxfordshire. buried in wolvercote cemetery, oxford.
